Go Local

Cork city is renowned for the warm welcome you receive and its picturesque location on the River Lee. It provides all the conveniences you would expect to find in a major city while maintaining a leisurely and relaxed feel.

Cork City has a great buzz all year round. Its celebrated arts and culture scene, and wide selection of entertainment mean there is something to suit all tastes.

UCC is a five minute walk from the city centre which itself is compact and easily explored by foot or bicycle. Take a wander down Patricks Street, known locally as “Pana” and explore the narrow winding streets of this medieval city. Sample the culinary delights of the world famous English Market, Ireland’s most distinguished covered market, which has been serving the people of Cork since 1788.

Rural Cork is equally as exciting as the city centre and is very accessible. Many of Cork’s most famous attractions such as Fota Wildlife Park, Blarney Castle and Spike Island are all just a short train, bus or car journey away.
